We’re hours away from our first end-of-month fundraising deadline of 2024, and our team wanted to send a quick note explaining why tonight’s midnight deadline is so important.

The truth is that Texas is a very winnable state. The last time Ted Cruz faced the voters, he barely managed to win by just over 2% of the vote. And a lot has happened since then:
- The GOP (and Ted himself) have shown just how extreme they are with abortion bans, book bans, radical open carry laws, attempts to overturn the 2020 election, and much more.
- Democrats have worked hard to build the community organizing power needed to mobilize and turn out new voters all across the Lone Star State.
- Meanwhile, Ted has spent more time jetting off to Cancun and moonlighting as a podcast host than doing his actual job.
But despite all these factors, it’s going to take an astronomical amount of resources to reach folks in every county and turn out the new voters it’s going to take to defeat Ted Cruz and flip Texas blue.
That’s why these deadlines are so important. Once the election heats up, we have big plans to run ad campaigns to constantly remind voters of all the harm Ted has done as our senator.
Because Texas is an enormous state with millions of voters to reach, we need to raise the resources we need right now to put our plans into action.
