January 22 Walkthrough
As we prepare to mark six years since the Marjory Stoneman Douglas tragedy, we're moved by the ongoing commitment to healing and progress. Recently, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona and federal officials, guided by Stand with Parkland members Tony and Jennifer Montalto, Tom and Gena Hoyer, Debbi Hixon, Max Schachter, and other family members of the victims, toured the crime scene. This significant walkthrough, supported by the Departments of Education, Homeland Security, Justice, Health and Human Services, and The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), underscores a united effort across our government to address school safety comprehensively.
Stand with Parkland families, led by Mr. Montalto, continue to turn grief into action, advocating for nationwide initiatives to enhance school safety standards. Together, we envision a future where schools are both places of learning and sanctuaries of safety.

Biden Administration Establishes Office of Gun Violence Prevention
Last week, President Biden's recent Executive Order addressed the safe storage of firearms, an initiative supported by the Office of Gun Violence Prevention. Stand with Parkland President Tony Montalto, shared insights on FoxNews, applauding the administration's establishment of the Office of Gun Violence Prevention.
In alignment with our mission, the school safety triad remains pivotal, and the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act stands as a significant achievement in our school safety movement.
The School Safety Triad
1. Securing each school campus
2. Improved Mental Health Screening and Support Programs
3. Responsible Firearms Ownership
Together, let's prioritize the safety of our students and teachers. Now is the time for collaborative efforts to address this critical issue. Support the movement for safer schools today.
