There is a quote from Maya Angelou that I think fits the state of our politics at the moment: "When someone shows you who they are, believe them—the first time."

And when it comes to Republicans in Missouri, particularly in the state Senate, it is time for us to believe that these people are showing us exactly who they are and what they actually care about.

As the Chaos Caucus continues to filibuster the Senate, many of their members are being outright childish—yelling and carrying on for hours about their lost parking spots, crying about how they are being “persecuted,” and filing completely unserious joke bills instead of doing the people’s business, which believe it or not was what they were elected to do. One of these bills would allow for senators to engage in a “duel” if they felt that their “honor” had been offended.

Give me a break. As if they even have any honor to be offended.

JOHN, flipping State Senate District 15 (a seat currently held by a member of the Chaos Caucus) is a critical first step towards putting an end to the daily embarrassment that we have to endure from the extremists in Jefferson City.

Wouldn’t it be nice to know that the people we elect to represent us are at least trying to work together to actually solve big, long-term issues?
