My fellow Americans – it’s Majority Leader Steve Scalise here. 



I took some time to jot down a few of my thoughts. I admit, it’s a longer email than I intended to write but I hope you’ll take a minute to read it over. <[link removed]>



Why did I write so much? Because my colleagues and I are in a serious pinch. I’m not ashamed to admit January has been unusually slow in terms of fundraising. I don’t know if it’s because the election seems so far away or Joe Biden’s economy is taking it’s toll – either way, we’re coming up dangerously short in the final stretch of the month. 



Unfortunately, the same is not true for the Democrats… 



Joe Biden is telling anyone who will listen that they raised the MOST money in Democrat history – they raked in nearly 100 million bucks! House Democrats also have a 7 million dollar lead on us. 



Frankly, if we don’t get our act together before the VERY FIRST deadline of the election year, I’m afraid the consequences would be truly devastating. 



If we fall short, we’ll be forced to 1) slash our digital outreach efforts to swing voters, 2) pull back our get-out-the-vote operations, 3) gut our recruiting efforts for volunteers and doorknockers, 4) close down our field offices in key districts, and 5)pull our ads OFF THE AIRWAVES ahead of the upcoming Special Election in New York.



The Democrats would be OVER THE MOON if we had to pull back our block-and-tackle campaign operations. 



That’s why I set a goal of raising another 150,000 dollars before our FIRST deadline of the year. It’s a long-shot but if that’s what it takes to fully fund all the critical campaign infrastructure we need to win, I won’t hesitate – NOT FOR ONE SECOND! <[link removed]>

Look, this first deadline was important before… 



But with the NY-03 Special Election just a few short weeks away, nothing is more important than rallying a last-minute fundraising surge.



I’m not asking you to cut a huge check. I know most folks aren’t in a position to do that – but if you can spare JUST five or ten bucks, I would be deeply appreciative. 



If you can pitch in more, that would be even better. Can I just ask you to pitch in something? On the other hand, if you can’t afford a financial contribution right now, that’s okay. We need prayers too. <[link removed]>



I would never ask you to pitch in more than you can afford. But if you can spare SOMETHING, I’m humbly asking you to do so before midnight tonight.
