If Instagram is more your thing (me too, honestly), feel free to download this graphic we made and post it on your feed:
What should you say? Well, instead of repeating what I said this morning, I'll just paste it below.

Subject: The cost of birth control is...?
;
To: [email protected]
Hey John,
We still don't know how much over-the-counter birth control pills will cost, but that won't stop us from demanding affordability and accessibility. Can you join us in posting on social media about it today? We even wrote this one for you to copy/paste:
This year you'll be able to buy birth control pills without a prescription at CVS, Walgreens, Amazon, and more! But we still don't know how much it will cost 🤔. I'm joining #FreeThePill in demanding @opill_otc is affordable, available & accessible! LINK
What's Happening:
The #FreeThePill campaign just released a public letter to retailers (like CVS & Walgreens) and Perrigo (the manufacturer of Opill, the first over-the-counter birth control pill) calling on them to make Opill:
- Affordable — Young people we've surveyed are hoping for the price to be around $15 for a 3-month supply
-
Available — Opill belongs right on the shelf next to condoms, Advil and cough medicine. No lockboxes, no need to ask the pharmacist ("Over-the-counter" should mean over it, not behind.)
-
Accessible — Of course, some folks won't be able to pay anything at all and also won't have the insurance to get birth control for free the old-fashioned way. So we are demanding Perrigo create a workable consumer assistance program and donation program to reach as many people as possible.
Today at 3pm eastern,
we are uplifting that letter and its demands on Twitter. Can you join us with a tweet like this:
Thrilled for a new birth control option this year with @opill_otc (no prescription needed!)
But how much will it cost? No idea.
We need @PerrigoCompany to commit to an affordable price AND free/lower cost options for those who still can't afford it. #FreeThePill
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reply to this email.
