Here's a terrifying (but unfortunately not surprising) stat: 75 anti-LGBTQ+ bills became law in 2023.

Instead of focusing on actual policies, MAGA Republicans have become obsessed with stoking shameful culture wars that demonize the LGBTQ+ community.

The sad truth is that nearly two-thirds of LGBTQ+ folks face discrimination today - and much of this hate is being driven by today’s Republican Party.

I mean just look at who every single Republican voted to make Speaker: Mike Johnson, a guy that is on record supporting the criminalization of sexual acts between consenting LGBTQ+ adults and even thinks a ‘homosexual agenda’ will destroy society.

And as for Will’s opponent Ken Calvert, his record is just as extreme: he voted against the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, against repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, and against the Equality Act. And in 1994, he even publicly outed my friend Rep. Mark Takano.

I’ve had enough. So I’m doubling down on my efforts to help Democrats flip the House next year and take back the majority from shameless, bigoted Republicans like Calvert and Johnson.
