Today we sent an important message about the strength and conviction of our pro-Israel community, demonstrating to Washington that being pro-Israel is good policy and good politics.
January 31 is an important benchmark, as candidates, PACs, and super PACs post their end-of-year political fundraising numbers to the FEC. This is a political bellwether for how strong and capable groups are heading into the elections.
Thanks to your leadership and support of our work, our report will show that we raised more than $18 million for pro-Israel candidates in 2023. This direct fundraising enabled us to back a majority of House members from each party and be one of the top fundraisers for Democrats and Republicans in Congress. As our friends continue to stand with Israel throughout its war, we are standing with them.
Today's report is also a message to those trying to undermine America’s relationship with Israel. The AIPAC-backed super PAC, United Democracy Project, will report more than $40 million in cash on hand as it enters the election season, giving us the tools to consider a number of races where anti-Israel candidates are trying to win a seat in Congress.
This is a good start, but we cannot rest. The next several months will be intense as the war wages on and primary election battles start here at home. We must grow stronger.
Together, we must redouble our support to our friends who are standing with Israel, and we must strengthen our resolve as anti-Israel candidates and organizations work to demonize and intimidate pro-Israel Americans from participating in the political process.
The most effective response to both our friends and our detractors will always be to keep building forward, increase political support to our allies, and strengthen our ability to defeat anti-Israel candidates.
Now is the time to build on this momentum throughout the election season and ensure pro-Israel candidates prevail in 2024. With your continued help, we will succeed and America’s partnership with Israel will only grow stronger.
Sincerely,
Michael Tuchin
