Hi John, I'm Sen. Janice Weiner, and I represent the 45th State Senate District in Iowa (Johnson County).
Iowa Senate Dems have recruited great candidates and are working hard to make sure our candidates have the resources they need to mount robust campaigns against their extremist Republican opponents in the upcoming election cycle.
We need to stay on pace for our 2024 budget.

In the upcoming months, Iowa Senate Dems will be working around the clock to elect candidates who will fight for issues such as:
1️⃣Protecting reproductive freedoms: Iowa has one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the country at only 6 weeks. Democrats believe that the right to choose should be a decision between a person and their trusted medical provider.
2️⃣Improving economic opportunity for all Iowans: Addressing our slow economy and high rate of young people leaving the state is essential to lowering costs for working families and finding innovative ways to retain Iowan talent.
3️⃣Investing in our public education system: We are committed to making Iowa a place where parents can feel confident about raising and setting their children up for success. That includes protecting our Area Education Agencies.
