While our month-ish break was a nice breather,
it's time to get back to work. Because if 2023 was considered an "off year," where we worked harder than ever, then this year…. well, let's just say we're gearing up for something big. It's crucial to channel our people-power where it can make the most significant impact on Black lives daily—and that's exactly what we're prepared to do.
Now, let's address the elephant in the room: Nikki Haley's color-blind Republican perspective.
She had the audacity to say, "America has never been a racist country," and that deserves a closer look.
Instead, let's talk about the critical issues, like how our educational system is trying to erase slavery from textbooks.
If America has never been racist, what part of American history are they attempting to erase? And what version of America is Donald Trump repeatedly trying to glorify?
These antics are yet another white supremacist move during a highly anticipated election year -- Instead of listening to Black voters, Republicans are dedicated to maintaining narratives and deflecting from the pressing issues that impact Black communities. It's weird AF.

We are prepared to hold
WHOEVER is running for office accountable. Donald Trump and Nikki Haley are already front-runners for the Republicans, so we're not even looking in that direction. We know our power. It will be earned. John, it's on us to fight against those who would undo decades of our ancestors' work to secure our right to vote.
What we want from this government is simple -- but in order to protect Black lives and build a democracy that serves all of us in 2024 and the future, we've got to keep up the momentum and continue our efforts in the fight for liberation.
This isn't the first distraction, and it won't be the last.
