Hi John,
As the Homeland Security Committee continues with its baseless impeachment against Secretary Mayorkas, I want to remind my Republican colleagues that these hearings will not:
❌ Change the price of groceries or rent in our neighborhoods.
❌ Make our borders more secure.
❌ Get to the root cause of migration.
In fact, this impeachment only further proves what we already knew: Republicans can not, and will not, take our issues at the southern border seriously.
But I'm not one to give into political theater. See, when I was elected to Congress, I took on a responsibility to be a strong voice for the people in our district.
A strong voice for families living in fear of separation by deportation.
A strong voice for the 38,000 people currently in immigration detention centers.
A strong voice for the children dying attempting to cross the Rio Grande to get to this country.
John, I am so sick of Republicans' clear commitment to petty political games.
