Last night the US Senate was poised to push forward a major Coronavirus Rescue Bill that would have provided $1.8 trillion in relief for families, small business owners, and employers across our country. Under this plan, families could be eligible to receive nearly $3,000 to help support themselves, and family owned businesses would have access to nearly $200 billion in federal funds set aside for loans and subsidies. President Trump, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and even Senate Democrats all came together to craft a bipartisan stimulus bill that could have been a godsend for our working class as well as our healthcare professionals.

Unfortunately, Nancy Pelosi and political strategists in the Democrat Party noticed a major increase in President Trump's approval rating during this crisis, and are concerned that passing such an historic rescue package would hurt their chances of defeating him in November. She then told her Democrat colleagues to block the current bill so that she can write her own, which will allegedly include portions of the Green New Deal and additional abortion funding.

Democrats prioritized their political goals over the livelihood of millions of Americans. Now is not the time for political games. The American people’s lives are turned upside down by the Coronavirus. Government mandates like Governor Newsom’s order leave many Californians unable to work to support their families. We need relief now.
