ACT NOW: Tell Congress to immediately pass the COVID-19 relief package that we desperately need

Congress will soon vote on an urgent Coronavirus stimulus package. We need to make sure they give support to those who need it most, and NOT the fossil fuel industry and other big polluters.

This is urgent. Congress could soon vote on a COVID-19 economic stimulus and relief aid package.

We are working to ensure that Congress passes a stimulus bill that protects people and prepares us for a more sustainable and healthy economic future. But as it stands, they risk passing a stimulus bill that dangerously misses the mark. It could end up diverting resources away from healthcare providers, small businesses, and communities that need help the most, while bailing out fossil fuel companies and other polluting industries and leaving us with a less durable, sustainable, and healthy economic future. We can't let that happen.

Send an urgent message to your representatives, pushing them to pass a COVID-19 stimulus package that helps those who need it most: families, small businesses, healthcare workers, and marginalized communities — NOT fossil fuel companies and other polluting industries.

This is a moment to address the national crisis head on, by taking care of people whose health and economic security is at greatest risk, spurring immediate job creation, and positioning the country for sustainable and durable recovery. It's a time to throw a lifeline to struggling people who need it most, not hand over taxpayer bailouts to the fossil fuel industry.

Any package must address near-term critical needs, including keeping the lights on and water running in people's homes, protecting access to housing and food, and providing desperately needed assistance for health care and other workers on the frontlines of this public health crisis. And it also MUST support communities at greater risk from this pandemic — low-income and marginalized communities, and communities of color.

We also need to make sure the stimulus sets us up for a strong, sound economy for the long-term — one that is more equitable and sustainable and that tackles climate change. That means investments in cleaner, smarter ways to power our future that will create jobs and safer, healthier communities.

Investing in clean energy is the smart bet for a stronger economy going forward. And it's a vital part of job-creating stimulus we need right now.

Please act now: Call on Congress to urgently pass a COVID-19 relief package that helps those who need it most and doesn't bail out polluters.

The COVID-19 crisis is exacerbating environmental justice issues around the country, and millions of Americans are struggling. This is NOT the moment for Congress to bail out polluting fossil fuel companies or write a blank check to major airlines.

Congress MUST put people first: They MUST help those who are most at-risk, protect workers, families, and small businesses from the economic downfall caused by the Coronavirus, and fully fund the medical research, supplies and infrastructure that we desperately need. And they must get it done IMMEDIATELY.
