In just one week, the Connecticut General Assembly will meet for its annual legislative session. Thank you to everyone who took time to fill out our legislative priorities survey and let us know what you’re wanting out of this year’s session.

You listed climate change, voting rights, healthcare, and education as your top priorities. Will you make a contribution today to show your support for the work Democrats are doing to address your needs this legislative session?

Here’s how your Democratic legislators are addressing these issues:

• Healthcare is a top priority in 2024. Lawmakers will discuss legislation to increase protections for home care workers, additional services and safeguards for Connecticut’s elder care sector, and improving the workforce pipeline for the healthcare industry.
• Lawmakers are looking to expand on the education accomplishments of last year’s session. An emphasis will be placed on recruiting and retaining teachers, as well as making higher education more accessible and equitable.
• Becoming more climate resilient will be an important area of conversation. Policies to reduce air pollution and protect coastal communities from flooding will be addressed.
• Early voting has arrived in CT in 2024! Elected leaders will monitor how this program goes in its first year of implementation and make adjustments as necessary to ensure easier access to casting your ballot.

Your legislative Democrats are working hard on the priorities you identified. With your support, Democrats can continue to improve the lives of working families, better educate the next generation of leaders, protect our democracy, and invest in our communities to reduce the impacts of climate change.
