** Péter Szijjártó, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade
------------------------------------------------------------

Péter Szijjártó is a Hungarian politician who has been Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade since 2014. He previously served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. In June 2012, he was appointed to State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations of the Prime Minister’s Office.

He first became a member of the National Assembly in 2002. He received mandates in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2018 as well; currently, he is serving his fourth term as a Member of Parliament.

Péter Szijjártó was born in Komárom on 30 October 1978. After spending a half year in the United States, he finished his secondary studies at Czuczor Gergely Benedictine Secondary Grammar School of Győr in 1997. He graduated from Corvinus University of Budapest, majoring in international relations and sports management.

** 2024 Rising Stars Nominations

The New York State Young Republicans (NYSYR) plan to award Rising Stars within the New York Young Republican movement at their winter conference this year. The NYSYR has asked that our Club provide two nominees for this award (one male and one female). Nominees must be between the ages of 18-40 and live in New York City.

The Board of Governors, therefore, requests that all Members share their perspectives on who would best fill this role and has created a form below to collect this data.

The New York Young Republican Club brings together men and women aged 18 to 40 to discuss important policy issues, promote Republican principles and values, and help elect Republicans to office. With hundreds of dues-paying members throughout New York City and the United States, the Club engages in politics by:

We are currently looking for Vice-Chairs for many of our committees, who will receive special discounts for working events and recognition on our website. In addition to Vice Chair positions, we are looking to build all of our committees in terms of members.
