We wanted to take a minute to write to you with an exciting update on our fight against childhood poverty.
This month, Congress introduced a bipartisan tax framework that would expand the Child Tax Credit (CTC) to benefit sixteen million kids.
When Congress expanded the Child Tax Credit in 2021, we cut the child poverty rate almost in half. Ninety percent of kids in Colorado benefitted. It was a huge success.
Despite Michael’s best efforts, Congress let the expanded Child Tax Credit expire in 2022. He’s been working hard to get it reinstated ever since.

This is a big step forward for the expanded Child Tax Credit and the breathing room it will give to working families is undeniable. Eighty percent of kids who couldn't receive the expanded Child Tax Credit will benefit.
We need to get this bill passed — and then we need to make the expanded Child Tax Credit permanent.
