Friend,

Well, here we are after two primaries. I’ll be honest, I didn't think we’d learn much of anything from these primaries. I thought Trump would win both Iowa and New Hampshire fairly easily, and I’d feel the way I’ve always felt about the 2024 election. While this remains mostly true, there’s a silver lining.

Looking at the results out of Iowa and New Hampshire has me feeling optimistic for November. Even though Trump took both primaries, his numbers weren’t particularly commanding. In fact, I thought they were a little weak. They show that Republicans aren't super in love with the idea of him getting the nomination. They show that about half of the people who voted in these primaries want something else.

After looking in depth at these final results, I know what our mission at The Lincoln Project for the next 9-ish months has to be: get these Republicans who want something else to not just stay home. We need to get them to vote for President Biden. This needs to be our main focus. Because at the end of the day, this thing is gonna come down to four states: Arizona, Georgia, Wisconsin and Nevada. This is where we need to work on motivating anti-Trump Republicans.

Will this be an easy task? No. But this little boost of confidence has me convinced that we will take care of business come November. We will elect the right guy.

But let me be clear, my confidence doesn’t mean that we’re taking our foot off the gas. In fact, it means we’re pushing harder. I’m talking more ads, more exposure, and more Trump tantrums. It’s a battle folks, and we’re showing no mercy. Help us keep firing on all cylinders through November>>
