Have you seen San Francisco’s final proposed rezoning from the Expanding Housing Choice? There will be an informational hearing at Planning on Thursday, 2/1 to talk about the changes. At its most basic, it will allow for more homes along transit and commercial corridors throughout much of the city, especially where we have not built any new homes, and it’s a necessary part of the Housing Element we already agreed to.

While it could be more ambitious, our opponents are organizing and flooding the zone to say we shouldn't do it at all. We need to meet the moment. Don’t let them lock San Francisco in amber! Email your Supervisor TODAY.

We'll also be showing up at Planning to show our support as well. IF you can make it, it goes a long way to have supporters in the room. We expect a BIG turnout for this one and it's important that our Planning Commissioners hear pro-housing voices who support a vision of abundant housing, not just naysayers who don't want anything to change.

We expect the item will be heard around 12:30 PM and public comment will start around 1 pm, but as always that is subject to whatever else is occurring at the Commission
