The importance of this win cannot be overstated: These gas exports would have emitted as much pollution as more than 550 new coal-fired power plants. Act now before Friday's February 2 deadline: The Biden administration’s nationwide plan to safeguard old-growth forests currently falls short. It neglects crucial protections for mature, or future "old-growth," trees, which represent the majority of the national forest system and hold the majority of the forests' stored carbon. Protecting these trees would safeguard our clean water and air as well as wildlife habitats, and offer much-needed climate protection. We need to speak up NOW to demand lasting protection for all forests -- one of our best solutions in the fight against climate change.

2) Tell the EPA: Protect People and Pollinators From Toxic Pesticides

Toxic chemicals are still used nationwide, driving species of birds, bats, and bees toward extinction and polluting essential water supplies. We recently won a victory in New York with the Birds and Bees Protection Act to limit use of neonicotinoids (also known as neonics), the most ecologically destructive pesticide since DDT. But more advocacy is urgently needed – tell the EPA to do more now to regulate toxic neonics!
