We recently launched Her Bold Move Florida to join a bipartisan coalition on the ground in Florida as they work to pass a constitutional amendment protecting access to abortion statewide.

This month, we saw a major victory in this effort as the initiative qualified to be on the ballot statewide in Florida in November!!!!

Thanks in part to your support, over 910,000 verified petitions made it past the overall qualification threshold (surpassing the 891,523 valid petition signatures the state required) and met the qualification criteria in 17 congressional districts.

We are thrilled! However, we wanted to send an update as it pertains to Florida…

As you may have heard, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently dropped out of the presidential race. That means DeSantis now has a lot more time on his hands, and he will undoubtedly commit much of it to fighting against this important ballot initiative protecting abortion access. We need to be even more prepared.

The Florida GOP has warned us that this fight will be brutal. Our goal is to raise $5,000 BEFORE the end of the month so we can help our partners keep up the fight through November. Will you help support Her Bold Move Florida by donating $20.24 or more today?

According to our partners in Florida, here are the next steps:

Step 1: The Florida Supreme Court will hear oral arguments about the ballot language on February 7. This will be the final hurdle to actually get the initiative on the ballot.

Step 2: We will need to help raise funds for research, polling, and, importantly, legal fees, as the Florida GOP has assured us that they will wage a bitter legal war against this initiative. Every dollar we raise will help defend against attacks and map out a path to victory.

Step 3: Once the measure is on the ballot, it will require support from at least 60% of voters. Recent similar ballot measures have shown us that when abortion is on the ballot, voters show up to defend their rights. But turning out 60% of voters will be a challenge. We need to help launch a massive field program to ensure that voters are informed, engaged, and committed to casting their ballots in November.

This is our chance to make history. But we can’t do it alone.
