Dear John, 

Congress is back in session this week! Contact your members of Congress and remind them to support the bipartisan tax package proposed by Senator Wyden and Representative Smith to restore elements of the 2021 Child Tax Credit expansion. This agreement will benefit 16 million young people, including more than 1 in 3 Black and Brown children under 17. It is crucial that we push now to get it across the finish line and resources into the hands of families. 

We know this proposal does not go as far as we would like. But it would provide financial relief for millions of children and represents a first step toward more robust support. Let’s get this version done, then continue to fight for a permanent, fully refundable, monthly Child Tax Credit that accelerates the economic mobility of America’s families.
