I went to the border on Friday to give Texas’ dedicated men and women stationed down there a well-deserved thank you and to let them know Texans are standing behind them. I also wanted to be with them in the event the Biden Administration showed up to cut the wire.
You can see how narrow the Rio Grande is. Two months ago, up to 3,000 people per day crossed into the park area. On Friday, it was basically zero.
I took a DPS helicopter over the area and saw first-hand that we can have a secure border with a combination of a wall, protective wire, buoys, and boots on the ground.
I also made an appearance on the Special Report with Bret Baier on Friday down on the border. Click here to watch the clip.
When it comes to the border, Joe is messing with the wrong state. There’s a reason they say “Don’t Mess with Texas!”
I joined Martha MacCallum on her program Monday afternoon to talk about the latest with our southern border. Click here to watch the clip.
I also spoke with Trace Gallagher on Fox News at Night. You can watch the interview here.
I Told Everyone This Would Happen
I had no doubt President Trump would pull off another victory in New Hampshire's GOP primary last Tuesday…and he did just that, further cementing his status as the front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. We are ready to Make America Great Again!
President Trump will win Texas in a landslide in the Republican primary in a few weeks.
Amarillo GOP Lincoln-Reagan Dinner
The Saturday before last, I traveled to the Panhandle to speak at the Amarillo GOP Lincoln-Reagan Dinner. Texas Republican Chair Matt Rinaldi and Eric Trump joined me.
It's Time for Everyone to Stand for Women and Stop the Nonsense
Back in 2017, I told everyone this would happen. I prioritized and co-wrote Senate Bill 6 with Senator Kolkhorst (R-Brenham), which would stop men from going into ladies' rooms, later branded the "bathroom bill."
I had support from the grassroots but was pounded with criticism from the media and opposition. Everyone said I was overly exaggerating the issue and intolerant of others. I was neither. We knew where this was heading, but liberal Speaker Joe Straus killed it in the House.
So here we are in 2024. Women's sports are being taken over by men who couldn't win against their own gender. Women are being denied their right to compete fairly against other women.
What incentive do young girls have to continue playing sports if there is the threat that men can swoop in and take their positions, their medals, records, and, worst of all, their dreams?
In the last two sessions, we finally had the votes in the House to pass SB 15 (Sen. Middleton, R-Galveston) and HB 25 (Rep. Swanson, R-Spring), prohibiting men from playing women's sports in Texas. Sadly, the NCAA, some professional women's leagues, crazy left-wing Democrats, and President Biden still will not stand up for women in sports.
It's time for everyone to stand for women and stop the nonsense before women's sports as we know them cease to exist.
Thank you all for your support and everything you do to keep Texas red. May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.
Sincerely,
Dan Patrick
Lieutenant Governor of Texas
