“Some people are driving 20 miles to attend here,” Rev. Susan Marner-Sides said. “We’re the only United Methodist worship service in the county.” While disaffiliation left many United Methodists asking, “Now what?”, several communities are channeling their energy into starting something new and United Methodist. New faith communities, in various stages of launch and formation, have popped up in Bernie, Cole Camp, Clinton and Cape Girardeau.
