States extend health insurance to noncitizens
Nearly 4 in 10 nonelderly noncitizens lack health insurance, partly because of restrictions on federally funded public health coverage linked to immigration status. In response, some states are using their own funds to provide public health insurance to noncitizens who are excluded.


New research, based on interviews with key stakeholders, explores policy conditions behind expansions and identifies research needs that could inform future policies.
