You've probably heard about Gov. Reynolds' proposal to slash funding and services at Iowa's Area Education Agencies – and the huge public outcry against it.

Her plan would be terrible for Iowa kids and communities – and it's getting a public hearing on Wednesday in a Senate subcommittee.

We need your help now to resist this bad bill.

Here are three things you can do right now to make a difference:

1. Sign our petition to support Iowa’s AEAs.

2. Join the subcommittee hearing.

⏰ A hearing on Senate Study Bill 3073 is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, at the Iowa State Capitol.

➡️ Attend the hearing in person at the Capitol, join the discussion online, or leave a written comment for lawmakers.

🚨 Subcommittee hearings are the only time Iowans get to comment directly on legislation. Make your voice heard!

3. Email senators and tell them to vote no.

One Republican lawmaker said last week, “I’ve been up here 12 years but I’ve never quite felt the pressure that I feel right now.”
