While much of the election coverage has focused on the likely presidential
rematch between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, here in Texas, a lot has been
happening, John.

Since first becoming governor almost a decade ago, Gov. Greg Abbott has
been busy — not serving Texans, but using his office to consolidate his
power and insulate himself from accountability, at times even
circumventing the GOP-dominated legislature and overriding local
officials.

That doesn’t sound like “small and limited government” to us. It does
sound a lot like authoritarianism though.

And guess who recently gave his full throated endorsement of this
authoritarianism?

That's right, John
— our very own part-time senator Ted Cruz!

[ [link removed] ]In yet another appearance on Fox News, Ted took it upon himself to
issue a full-throated endorsement of Texas Governor Greg Abbott's
authoritarian agenda.

We shouldn’t have to say this but we deserve a senator who at the very
least won’t publicly endorse an extremist far-right agenda.

That’s why we’re working hard between now and November to mobilize a
statewide coalition to Cut Cruz from the Senate — [ [link removed] ]can you join us by

In yet (another) appearance on Fox News last week, Ted defended the
indefensible — in endorsing Gov. Abbott’s position that Texas as a state
should be allowed to impose and enforce draconian immigration policies
without federal interference.

This comes as no surprise to us as the relationship between Abbott and
Cruz dates back to the early 2000s, when then-TX Attorney General Abbott
appointed Ted as the state’s Solicitor General.

Since then, both men have made a name for themselves for their extreme
far-right worldview and have supported each other’s political rise.

Now as Senator and Governor respectively, both have pushed for cruel
abortion and immigration restrictions, stifled any and all gun control
legislation, and openly supported the attempts to overturn the 2020
election.

So what can we do,
John?

While Gov. Abbott isn’t on the ballot this November, Ted Cruz certainly is
and he’s never been more vulnerable than right now. We have a real chance
to show him and Abbott that Texans are ready for change, but if we’re
going to Cut Cruz this November, we’ll need your support — so if you can,
