As we begin a new year — and the bitter partisanship heats up — it is easy
to feel overwhelmed. But this month’s newsletter is chock full of good
news and tangible ways to make things better. From celebrating
justice-impacted leaders making change across our country to scholarships
for a transition to a green economy, we are highlighting the progress that
is possible when we focus on solutions and are willing to find common
ground. That is what Dream.Org is all about: bringing people together for
a future beyond pollution, prisons, and poverty.

Dream.Org’s own Ms. Ruby Welch has been honored with the Arkansas NAACP
Community Service Award, a recognition of her tireless dedication to
criminal justice reform. Ms. Ruby's commitment to ending mass
incarceration and opening doors of opportunity are inspiring and
transformative. Her leadership extends beyond Arkansas, influencing
national conversations and actions in criminal justice reform. [ [link removed] ]Watch

[ [link removed] ]Dream GREEN
America's vulnerable communities face the dual challenges of the climate
crisis and systemic issues in the legal system. But If we act before Jan
31, we have the power to shape a new government initiative to help on both
fronts. The American Climate Corps (ACC) will launch conservation and
renewable energy projects employing marginalized groups nationwide. We
want the Biden Administration to also include individuals affected by the
legal system, often excluded from employment opportunities after
incarceration. As the ACC tackles pollution and revitalizes neighborhoods,
we urge it to create jobs for those impacted by the legal system as well.

It’s sad but true: very often, the communities that feel the worst brunt
of climate change are also left out of the work and wealth opportunities
promised by the green transition. That's why we're investing in future
leaders through our latest cycle of our Climate Tech Career Pathways
Scholarship Fund, made possible through our partners at Indeed. Offering
scholarships of $3,500 per recipient, this initiative aims to make sure no
one is left behind in the growing green economy. If this opportunity looks
exciting to you, apply below!
