Oceanside, California - Today, the Margarita Wilkinson for Congress campaign released its first television ad of the primary election highlighting Wilkinson’s personal story and the border crisis.

A legal Mexican immigrant, Wilkinson grew up in El Paso, Texas along the US-Mexico border. During her childhood, her family would turn on the local news and see that gang violence, crime, drugs, and trafficking were rampant - issues that persist to this day, decades later - due to the lack of border security. Even her own family was attacked by the cartels. These experiences are a part of Margarita's childhood and her personal story, shaping her views and beliefs. That's why she's a Republican and in Congress, she’ll fight to secure the border.
