Real Justice

John,

Local sheriffs have the power and moral responsibility to take actions that will protect our communities and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

From limiting instances where people are taken into custody, to maximizing the use of cite and release for as many offenses as possible; there are ways to stop the spread of coronavirus in our communities and in our local jails.

We need your help understanding how sheriffs across the country are handling the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve heard from a few sheriffs that they are taking steps to contain and prevent the spread of COVID-19 but we need your help finding out how local law officials are handling this pandemic across the country.

So, I’m asking you today: Will you call your local sheriff and ask them what specific steps they are taking to address the COVID-19 pandemic in your community? Click here to record your sheriff’s response.

Take Action

Thank you for taking action today and calling your sheriff’s office, it’s the first step to making sure that every single sheriff is doing everything possible to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.

More soon,

Chris Lazare
