Hey Herbert, it’s Johnny O.
I’m a bottom line up front kind of guy, so let’s get right to it: I am excited to announce that I am running for Congress!
Growing up in Baltimore County, through my family and my faith, I learned the value of working hard and giving back to my community.
As a first-generation college graduate, education helped unlock the potential in my life, and so I went on to become an educator in the neighborhood that raised me to help unlock that same potential in my students. I encouraged my students to be civically engaged because I know our democracy only works when we get involved and make our voices heard.
Over the past 5 years as County Executive, we’ve led a bold, transformative vision for building a better Baltimore County, one with an open and connected government, strong schools, and safe, vibrant communities. Serving our residents has been the honor of my life, and I am so proud of all we’ve been able to achieve together.
But let’s face it: Congress is broken. Too often, self-interest, special interests, and partisan politics get in the way of progress. It’s time for a new generation of leadership in Washington, leaders who will work together and find compromise — without compromising our values.
I’m running for Congress to bring order back to Washington so we can get back to serving the people. Will you join me and become a Founding Donor by making a contribution towards my campaign for Maryland's 2nd Congressional District?
