January 2024
Dear Friend,
The Stories section of our website is just that, the amazing stories of American airmen and women and their impact on Britain and Europe. We're excited to share this content with you, that’s why each month we highlight a Story and bring this intriguing content to your inbox.
Your support helps the American Air Museum record, store, and share stories like those of the 100th Bomb Group and Colonel Gale Cleven, which are highlighted in a new World War II drama series, Masters of the Air, airing January 26 through March 15 on Apple TV. This month, we are focusing on the 100th Bomb Group with our Story feature:
On the morning of 25 June 1943, B-17s of the 100th Bomb Group went to war for the first time. The 100th Bomb Group is one of the most famous of the Second World War - earning the nickname 'The Bloody Hundredth'.
Learn about the 100th Bomb Group in this mini story and 11-minute in-depth video.
Thank you to our members who make all our work possible. We hope you will enjoy learning more about the heroic men and women who sacrificed so much for our freedom.
Sincerely,
The American Air Museum in Britain
