Proof is in the victories. Stories inside -->>

Assalamu’alaykum John,

It can seem daunting in a time of walls, bans, and migrant 'concentration' camps to find windows of opportunity where justice can prevail. It is indeed challenging, but it is not impossible.

Take the case of Carl Kennemer, a Muslim convert who found himself on the controversial No-Fly list and separated from his family with no stated reason - strongly suggesting that his faith was the motive. The MLFA-funded Law Center fought back - and won.

Or the case of Osama Abu-Irshaid, an American Muslim leader who faced 11 years of delays in receiving his U.S. citizenship because of a dangerous attempt by the government to expand the definition of ‘affiliation’ and accuse him of guilt-by-association. The MLFA-funded Law Center fought back - and won.

Not to mention the case of Noor Salman - the first spouse of a mass shooter to be put on trial for the crimes of another - simply on the basis of her faith. The MLFA-funded Law Center fought back - and won.

We recently shared the story of Haisam Elsharkawi, who is challenging the government’s attempts to dismiss his experience of religious profiling. His case highlights how much freedom airport security agents have in searching ‘persons of interest’ without much legal justification or accountability - which will continue to go unchecked unless we stand up for our rights. The MLFA-funded Law Center is doing just that.

*** And just last week, we witnessed the reversal of a terror conviction that stood for 14 years *** before a federal judge agreed that Hamid Hayat, a young cherry-picker and haafidth of the Quran, was unjustly prosecuted all those years ago based on nothing more than a false confession and a zealous government intent on criminalizing innocent Muslims in pursuit of the War on Terror. After 14 years, his rights were restored, and the truth prevailed. God willing, justice will too.

These individuals didn't give up - and neither should we.
Your donation today helps us continue to fight for justice.

In these final days of the best days of the year - please support MLFA!

These cases demonstrate the importance of MLFA’s work and how victories like these
can set important precedents -- especially when the law is misused in cases involving Muslims.

We need your help today to continue on the path to justice for Muslims in America.

In a month commemorating the sacrifice of our forefather Ibrahim (AS) and the journey of millions to the Holy Kaba, please keep the cause of justice in your prayers and give what you can to support MLFA.

Together, we can fund the work that makes justice possible, in shaa allah.

In faith and for justice,
