Earlier in January, the two dozen employees of Adda Coffee & Tea House, a four-store Pittsburgh coffee shop chain, announced plans to unionize. Within hours, the owner closed all locations, citing financial losses.

The sudden closures led to questions about whether the decision was aimed at breaking the union. If a legal challenge emerges, the state of Adda's finances may help decide ([link removed]) .
