In Oregon, we've been voting by mail for 20 years. You get three weeks to vote. You can do it in your PJs. You get the time to study the issues and the candidates. No one has to stand in line at polling places. And we have one of the highest voter turnouts in the nation.
Universal vote-by-mail is a great idea in the best of times.
But right now, in the midst of the coronavirus crisis, vote-by-mail is critical for the health of all Americans -- and the health of our democracy. Sign my petition to demand universal vote-by-mail in 2020.

We need emergency legislation to ensure that the 2020 election is accessible to every single American who wants to vote by mail.
We don't know what path the coronavirus outbreak could take. But a resurgence of the virus in the fall cold weather is entirely possible -- and we have to ensure that the 2020 election happens, happens safely, and includes every eligible voter.
We simply cannot require millions of Americans -- including medical first responders and the sick -- to stand in long lines waiting to vote.
This coronavirus situation is fluid. Your support, right now, on this petition will make a critical difference at this critical time. Help me tell my colleagues that tens of thousands of Americans are demanding universal vote-by-mail.
SIGN THE PETITION:
Tell Congress: We need universal vote-by-mail in 2020.
