I’m beyond elated to celebrate the record 21.3 million people who are now signed up for Affordable Care Act plans!

This historic milestone was reached thanks to the enhanced tax credits provided by my Health Care Affordability Act that lowered costs and increased access to care. Now, some enrollees are covered for the first time ever.

Now, I am leading our efforts in Congress to make these tax credits from my bill which expires in 2025 permanent. John, will you support my work to get this done?

I’m proud to see that over the years Democrats have remained united in our goal to ensure that millions of Americans, including folks like me with pre-existing conditions, have access to high-quality and affordable care.

But even with this year’s record enrollment, who is still trying to undo our progress by repealing the ACA and stripping millions of Americans’ right to have health care? That’s easy, MAGA Republicans. And the de facto Republican nominee for president is none other than Donald Trump who is vowing to repeal the ACA if elected.

It’s just a fact: There’s no end to the lengths the GOP will go to enact their harmful agenda to cruelly deprive working families of the essential health benefits they’re counting on.

If you recall, every single Republican in the House and the Senate going back to 2009 voted against lifesaving health care legislation including the ACA and my Health Care Affordability Act . Not to mention, this term, they’ve set their sights on cutting Social Security and Medicare.

That’s why I continue to urge folks like you, whose support determines elections, to help restore Democrats’ House majority this year and send President Biden and Vice President Harris back to the White House.

There’s no sugarcoating it, our democracy relies on your participation because when we don’t do our part, we let GOP extremists win elections and hold power.

We still have a lot of work to do to make life better for Illinois’ working families, but I know this team can accomplish anything when we work together.
