Smiles
No one was bigger in music in the 1980s than Pat Benatar. She sold over 36 million records and recorded 15 Top 40 hits. She was a style icon of her time (see “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”) with a powerful voice and a sneering rock star attitude. I’ve always loved Benatar’s songs. So when I found out that Benatar and her husband/collaborator Neil Giraldo recorded a new special for Austin City Limits, I couldn’t help but be intrigued. How would they present after all of these years? Their sound, as powerful and catchy as ever, is a real smile. |
