Team,
One year ago this month, the Biden administration announced a policy that would
allow immigrant workers who report dangerous or abusive workplaces to seek
temporary protection from deportation while they assert their rights. By lifting
the fear of retribution that immigrants often face in the workplace, the policy is a major shift that will help improve conditions for all workers .
This policy has been transformative . Immigrant workers, who have long endured poor working conditions and unfair
wages, now find themselves empowered to collectively speak out against
exploitative and abusive employers. Our latest report sheds light on the far-reaching impacts of this policy and
how it has changed people's lives. Check it out here >>>

NILC and our partners organized for years to secure this policy. Since it was
enacted, we have been hard at work, addressing critical gaps in the
implementation and spreading awareness so that workers know their rights. We've conducted over 50 training sessions on the new deferred action process,
equipping thousands of people, including workers, organizers, advocates, and
attorneys from every state with the information necessary to use labor-based deferred action to hold
employers accountable.
Earlier this month, the Biden administration announced a process for workers to
renew their temporary immigration protections, signaling its commitment to the
continued success of this policy.
As we celebrate this milestone, rest assured that we are not slowing down . We're determined to address any remaining gaps and collaborate with
government agencies to ensure our progress continues.
Your support makes victories like this possible, . We are
excited about the progress we can continue to make in the months and years ahead
with you by our side.
Sincerely,
Jessie Hahn
