Dear friend,
Medicaid/CHIP renewal is here. This means that state Medicaid programs across the country, including here in Wisconsin, are checking the eligibility of those currently enrolled. Such annual checks were postponed during the COVID-19 pandemic, so for some of you, this may be the first time. Officials will check your income, family size, and other details to determine if you still qualify.
If you are enrolled in Medicaid (BadgerCare) and/or have a child enrolled in CHIP, you should have or will receive a letter in the mail regarding your renewal. It is vital that you learn your renewal month and fill out any form you receive in the mail from these programs ASAP. Failure to do so may result in you losing your health coverage. Learn more here.
I am here to help my constituents through this process. That’s why I am teaming up with officials from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Milwaukee Health Department to host a webinar on Wednesday January 31st at 10 am CT to share everything you need to know about the Medicaid/CHIP renewal process, including what options you have if you were inadvertently dropped from the rolls already or were determined to no longer be eligible. No sign up is necessary! See the link to join below.
Click here to join the webinar. Also, if you know someone who could benefit from this webinar, forward this newsletter to them. As always, my office is here to help. If you are a resident of WI-04, and need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my district office at 414-297-1140.
Your friend,
Gwen
