…and that’s when the protesters began pelting the police with rocks and other
projectiles. Oneof them even struck Officer Teng’s partner in the chest.
Officer Teng and his partner deployed non-lethal bean bag rounds at the
rioters that wereattempting to harm and even kill him and his partner.
But for the progressive District Attorney José Garza, the rioters were not the
criminals — butOfficer Teng and the other police trying to stop the riot were!
Garza slapped over 20 Austin officers with felony charges for their efforts to
maintain order inAustin during unprecedented rioting.
