Team, you’ve been hearing from my team and me quite a bit lately. I hope you don’t mind me connecting with you today to explain why we are trying so hard to get in contact.
By now you are probably well aware of the ballot access process: A candidate collects signatures, submits them to the state, signatures are verified, and if the signature threshold is met, said candidate’s name will appear on the ballot.
Here’s the part that we haven’t explained: why this process is so important…
The act of collecting signatures – coordinating the on-the-ground efforts and connecting with voters willing to sign a petition paper – is a big test of grassroots momentum – especially in such a pivotal election year.
The Philadelphia suburbs are always on the radar of national Republican mega-donors, and with such a spotlight on us, we need to ensure we have the resources to fully power our ballot access program – the first big grassroots test of 2024. My team and I have determined that we need to raise another $7,000 to meet the moment. Only if you are able, can I count on you to donate before our end-of-month budget deadline on Wednesday?
My concern isn’t collecting signatures – our team of supporters have proven themselves time and again. I know they are up to the challenge.
However, I am concerned that pundits, the media, potential opponents, and the NRCC need a clear-as-day visual of our energy and momentum in PA-04 – a must-win geography in a must-win swing state. That’s why we’re so focused on executing an effective, intentional, and robust signature collection program.
But I need your help to make that happen, really. Your help today is greatly appreciated and will directly support our ballot access program.
Together, we will protect and defend the Philadelphia suburbs.
More soon,
Madeleine
