The resources you need to know how to help children everywhere
Over 100 Days of Violence Endangering Children in Gaza
After over 100 days of violence, children in the Gaza Strip face horrific conditions from intensive bombardment, exposure to diseases and acute food insecurity. Despite a blockade that’s slowing down and preventing aid from reaching those in need, UNICEF has still managed to move over 340 trucks into southern Gaza since October that carried vital supplies like warm winter clothing, blankets, vaccines, family hygiene kits and other emergency resources.
Amid recent air raids and power outages, school bomb shelters can help keep children learning, despite the hardships spreading across Ukraine. In these shelters, the students are protected, warm and equipped with everything they might need during an air raid — thanks to support from UNICEF. As the latest conflict escalates after nearly two years of war, more winter supplies will be needed to keep children safe.
A Community School in Eastern DRC Welcomes Displaced Boys and Girls
Getting displaced children back to school in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo is not just about addressing the disruption to their education — it’s crucial to their ongoing development while living through crisis. UNICEF is working with local partners to help meet urgent needs of children living in displacement camps including shelter, safe water, health care, nutrition and protection.
In welcoming the 118th Congress, UNICEF USA recommitted to prioritizing intentional and meaningful connections with legislators to advocate for policy change on behalf of children across the globe. From ending child marriage in three more U.S. states to prioritizing the mental health and well-being of children and youth globally, you helped prove that policy change is possible when we work together.
