John,
This weekend marked International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a day that is personal to my family and to countless families around the world.
My grandfather was one of the millions of innocent people murdered in the Holocaust. He died in a march just a couple of weeks before the war ended.
Antisemitism is currently on the rise in the United States, and we must all do our part to stand united against hate.
My parents taught me what happens when we turn away from one another, when we give in to cynicism and fear. I knew from an early age that democracies do not die overnight, but little by little, and it is on us to ensure that this democracy endures.
In solidarity,
Becca
