“Children of color have become the majority of our child population, yet we are far from being a society that fully values them and enables them to reach their potential.”

After a year of reflection and exploration as President and CEO, Vivian Tseng shares insights in a new letter about the evolution of the Foundation for Child Development’s (FCD) work at the nexus of research, policy, and practice and our journey ahead in the pursuit of advancing social justice for young children.

Under a new era of leadership at the Foundation, Vivian details the balance of continuity and change in FCD's organizational development as "a small foundation with big ideas" and its commitment to improving children's lives through creative initiatives.

Inspired by activist Yuri Kochiyama, Vivian outlines FCD's commitment to children marginalized by racism, xenophobia, and economic inequality, challenging deficit views in research and policy communities.
