Dear  SPUC supporter,

There is a concerted effort to extend abortion laws and remove all protection from unborn babies.

Abortion providers, activists and MPs are attempting to use the cases of women being prosecuted for illegal late term abortions – a direct result of their reckless pills by post policy – to decriminalise abortion entirely.

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists have been putting pressure on politicians by issuing guidance threatening medics with disciplinary action for reporting illegal abortions.

In November last year, Dame Diana Johnson MP and Stella Creasy MP tabled extreme amendments to the Government’s Criminal Justice Bill. On 25 January 2024 they were debated at Committee stage and withdrawn.

However, the danger is not over. It is now very likely that one of these amendments, or a new version of them, will be brought back at Report stage of the Bill in February.

It is now very important that MPs are flooded with letters ahead of any vote at Report stage.

To that end, we will be holding a webinar on Wednesday 31st January 2024, at 6.30pm. In the webinar, we will explain the political situation, and guide you on how to write to your MP. It will last no more than an hour.

Please register for the webinar. Fill in your details, and you will receive an email with the zoom link.

Hope to see many of you there!
