Indivisibles,

We’re guessing you’re not a big Breitbart reader, so chances are you
missed the far-right website’s 5,000-word, absolutely bananas "exposé"
this weekend, casting Indivisible as the primary threat to MAGA.

MAGA world, on the other hand, has been spreading it non-stop. Trump Jr.
shared it with the caption, "this is what we’re all up against" (damn
right). Conservative commentators told their followers it’s a must read,
and has-been Trump administration villains like Sebastian Gorka amplified
it too. Then, on Sunday morning, Donald Trump himself shared it on Truth
Social.

Exclusive — Defeat MAGA: Meet the Radical Left Network that Hijacked
Democrats in Effort to Stop Trump at All Costs. The post notes the article
is trending.

As you can imagine, our social media mentions are a mix of threats,
antisemitic hate, and some downright hilarious conspiracy theories right
now (apparently our executive directors control the Department of
Transportation?). That’s because the piece itself is one long conspiracy
theory, claiming our movement is basically responsible for every challenge
Trump has faced, from his 2020 defeat to his current legal troubles.

Forgive us for not linking to Breitbart (we prefer not to give "the
platform for the alt-right" clicks), but here’s one emblematic line: “The
level of influence and control that this leftist network has…is
essentially unprecedented in world history….never before has there been
such a sophisticated leftist structure in control of at least half of
American discourse in a presidential election year.”

We’re blushing. It’s ludicrous, of course, but it tells us that the MAGA
movement is truly terrified by the grassroots power we’ve built together
and sees us as a key obstacle to their authoritarian aims in 2024.

Well, that’s good. Because we’re not about to back down or cower before
their threats. But we do need your help to continue building an anti-MAGA
front this year (almost) as powerful as Breitbart makes us out to be.

No surprise, a lot in this Breitbart piece is mostly tinfoil hat nonsense,
but let’s celebrate what they got right:

✅ "Indivisible’s website [ [link removed] ]has a map that shows it has thousands of
affiliated local groups nationwide listed in communities around the
country. Every state in the union has multiple Indivisible local
partners." How nice of Breitbart to include a link to the map!

✅ Throughout the piece, Indivisible is given credit for getting Democrats
to make MAGA extremism a focus of the 2022 and 2024 campaigns. We share
that credit with a lot of progressive partners, but that’s 100% our game
plan for 2024.

✅ "Working against Trump in the White House from 2017 to 2021 may have
been its original goal, but the network that Indivisible leads has now
shifted to trying to stop Trump from winning in 2024." This one is
partially true -- we’re trying to stop Trump and all MAGA in 2024 AND
prepare to codify abortion rights and pass democracy reform in 2025.

Way back in 2017, in the early days of Indivisible, right-wing
commentators like those at Breitbart claimed that we were nothing more
than Soros-paid protesters. Some Indivisibles showed up at protests with
signs that said "George, where’s my check?" Fun times. But the reason some
in the right-wing embrace these conspiracy theories is that the truth is
much scarier to them: There are millions of everyday people across the
country who’ve banded together to oppose MAGA and save our democracy. The
movement has grown because our values are popular and their extremism is
deeply unpopular. And despite their efforts to divide us, we’ve maintained
the energy to fight on, Indivisible, to defend our rights and defeat
fascism once more this year.

Now, it’d be nice if we actually controlled a vast network of megadonors,
as they claim in the article. But the truth is, our work has always relied
on grassroots funding, and if we’re to win in 2024 -- to “stop Trump at
all costs,” as the article puts it -- it’ll be because of grassroots
donors like you.

[ [link removed] ]Chip in, if you can, to help us continue building the grassroots power
that’s got MAGA-world on the ropes. Let’s show them what this movement is
made of.
