Three U.S. Soldiers Killed in Drone Attack by Iran-Proxy Terror Group
This is what appeasement gets you. Katie Pavlich: Three United States service members were killed Saturday in an Iranian drone attack in Jordan near the border with Syria. Two dozen others were seriously injured. For months Iran has launched attacks on U.S. troops in the region through its proxy forces. The Biden administration has issued limited strikes on Iranian backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen, insisting their strategy would work to deescalate the situation ( Townhall). TV News Now: FOX NEWS ALERT: “The deadliest attack on American forces in the Middle East since the October 7th Hamas massacre as a drone strike kills 3 U.S. troops and wounds 25 at a base in Jordan” ( X).

Republicans Introduce Articles of Impeachment Against Alejandro Mayorkas
Townhall: House Republicans unveiled Articles of Impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Sunday. Introduced by Rep. Mark Green (R-Tenn.), the resolution accuses Mayorkas of “Willfull and systemic refusal to comply with the law” and “breach of public trust.” Republicans included two articles. One states that Mayorkas violated immigration laws, while a second article accuses the secretary of failing to uphold his duties, misleading Congress, and obstructing the GOP’s investigation. He also has been unable to detain a sufficient number of migrants as required in the code ( Townhall). Blaze Media: Between the fiscal years 2017 through 2020, there were a combined 11 individuals on the terrorist watchlist caught attempting to cross the U.S. southern border. However, there were an alarming 169 non-citizens on the terrorist watchlist trying to enter the country in fiscal year 2023. So far in 2024, there have been 49 possible terrorists nabbed at the border. Last week, a coalition of former FBI officials warned Congress that the border crisis is ushering in a “new and imminent danger” from “military-aged men from across the globe” infiltrating the southern border, which could result in a catastrophic attack on U.S. soil ( Blaze Media).

Border Patrol Union Announces Support for Texas’ National Guard
Townhall: The official Border Patrol Union voiced its support for Texas as Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) takes action against President Joe Biden’s “catastrophic” border policies. This week, The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) released a statement saying that “rank-and-file” Border Patrol agents “appreciate and respect” the measures Abbott is taking to stem the historic amount of illegal migrants pouring into the U.S. under the Biden Administration. The 18,000-member Union dismissed headlines that claimed they would arrest Texas National Guardsmen for following their lawful orders. Instead, the NBPC vowed to work together and respect each other’s jobs, adding that unlawful orders will not be tolerated ( Townhall). Border Patrol Union: Rank-and-file BP agents appreciate and respect what TX has been doing to defend their state in the midst of this catastrophe that the Biden Admin has unleashed on America. We want to be perfectly clear, there is no fight between rank-and-file BP agents and the TX NG, Gov. Abott, or TX DPS. It may make flashy headlines, but it simply isn’t true ( X).

Biden’s Approval Numbers for His Third-Year in Office Reach Second Lowest Since Jimmy Carter
Daily Wire: President Joe Biden’s approval numbers for his third year in office were the worst among every commander-in-chief since Jimmy Carter, according to Gallup. Throughout his third year in office, Biden had an average approval rating of 39.8%. That average was the second worst among every president over the past 68 years, coming in just ahead of President Jimmy Carter’s 37.4% approval rating from 1979 to 1980. The poor approval ratings for Biden heading into the 2024 election don’t bode well for his campaign ( Daily Wire). Gallup: Donald Trump, Barack Obama, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon also had sub-50% third-year averages. Dwight Eisenhower’s 72.1% is the highest for a third-year president ( Gallup).

UNRWA Fires 12 Employees Amid Allegations Linking Them to The October 7 Attacks Against Israel
NBC: Eight countries have paused future funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East amid an investigation into allegations some workers participated in the Oct. 7 attack on Israel. The agency, known as the UNRWA, is entrusted with moving much-needed humanitarian aid into Gaza, which has been under intense bombardment by the Israel Defense Forces in its mission to annihilate Hamas militants after the October strike. The countries pausing funding include the United States, Germany, United Kingdom, Australia, Italy, Canada, Finland and the Netherlands. The UNRWA said Friday that Israeli authorities provided information that several of its employees were involved in the attacks. The allegations were made against 12 employees. The UNRWA has said that it was terminating the contracts of the workers and that the U.N. Office of Internal Oversight Services would conduct an investigation into the allegation ( NBC). Andy Ngo: The UN agency for Palestinian refugees UNRWA is furious after 9 countries, including US & UK, suspended funding over an investigation into the involvement of their staff in the Oct. 7 terror attacks. Houthi Militants Attack British Oil Tanker in Red Sea
CNBC: An oil tanker operated on behalf of Trafigura was struck by a missile on Friday after transiting the Red Sea. The Marlin Luanda, a petroleum products tanker vessel, was struck by the missile in the Gulf of Aden. Firefighting equipment on board is being used to suppress a fire in one of the cargo tanks, the spokesperson said. Houthi militants claimed responsibility for the attack, describing the vessel as a “British oil ship” ( CNBC). BBC: The UK government said attacks on commercial shipping are “completely unacceptable” and that Britain and its allies “reserve the right to respond appropriately.” The US Central Command said “these unlawful actions have nothing to do with the conflict in Gaza” ( BBC).

As More Car Companies Are Looking to Nix AM Radio From Vehicles, The Radio Industry Takes a Stand
Wall Street Journal: A motley crew of AM radio advocates, including conservative talk show hosts like Hugh Hewitt and federal emergency officials, are lobbying Congress to stop carmakers from dropping the old medium from new vehicles. Tesla, Volvo and BMW are among the companies that have already stopped providing AM tuners in some models. Last year, Ford said it would join them—until CEO Jim Farley reversed course “after speaking with policy leaders.” Lawmakers say most car companies are noncommittal about the future of AM tuners in vehicles, so they want to require them by law to keep making cars with free AM radio. Supporters argue it is a critical piece of the emergency communication network, while the automakers say Americans have plenty of other ways, including their phones, to receive alerts and information. A spring 2023 Nielsen survey showed AM radio reaches about 78 million Americans every month. That is down from nearly 107 million in the spring of 2016, one of the earliest periods for which Nielsen has data ( Wall Street Journal).

U.S. Plans to Move Nuclear Weapons to U.K.
Telegraph: The United States is planning to station nuclear weapons in the UK for the first time in 15 years as the threat from Russia increases. Procurement contracts for a new facility at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk confirm that the US intends to place nuclear warheads three times the strength of the Hiroshima bomb at the air base. The US removed nuclear missiles from the UK in 2008, judging that the Cold War threat from Moscow had diminished. The disclosure comes in the wake of warnings that NATO countries need to ready their citizens for war with Russia. Russia has stated that the placement of US weapons in Britain would be viewed by Moscow as an “escalation” and would be met with “compensating counter-measures” ( Telegraph). Daily Wire: The U.S. stored nuclear weapons at RAF Lakenheath during the Cold War. The base is now expected to carry B61-12 nuclear gravity bombs, which are more than three times more powerful than the nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima. The U.S. Department of Defense has ordered new equipment for the base, the report said, including “ballistic shields designed to protect military personnel from attacks on ‘high value assets’” ( Daily Wire).

House Ways and Means Committee Puts Forward Tax Bill With Additional Child Credits
Daily Signal: A major feature of the House Ways and Means Committee’s “tax bill” is an expansion of the child tax credit. It would increase welfare subsidies for single parents. It would undermine rather than strengthen work requirements in welfare. Far from a program that incentivizes work and family formation, the Ways and Means Committee’s bill, by expanding so-called refundable child tax credits, would simply expand the traditionally flawed welfare state. The bill is based on the premise that more welfare money must be spent, primarily to subsidize single parents. Although the bill claims its aim is to provide “tax relief” to families with children, there is little “tax relief” in it for working families. Instead, over 90% of the “family benefits” would be new cash welfare payments to families who pay no federal income taxes and little or no Social Security tax ( Daily Signal). Just the News: Conservatives are advocating for changing the Child Tax Credit expansion in the bipartisan tax deal that advanced out of the House Ways and Means Committee, seeking a provision that would prohibit illegal immigrants from claiming the tax benefit. This legislation, as it stands, would increase the Child Tax Credit from $2,000 to $3,600 ( Just the News).

Starbucks Employee Fired for Subduing Two Robbers in Store
BizPac Review: A former Starbucks employee has sued the chain for firing him (and a coworker) after they successfully fought back against would-be robbers. Michael Harris, 20, was working the drive-through at a Starbucks in Missouri on Dec. 17th when two seemingly armed hooligans walked into the restaurant and tried to rob everybody ( BizPac Review). Collin Rugg: I can’t emphasis this enough: Starbucks is trash. Harrison was praised by local media but Starbucks was not thankful for his actions. They were then placed on paid leave for two weeks. After the two weeks was up, Harrison and his co-worker were fired for “violating company policy.” “In situations like this, our training and protocols guide our partners to comply and de-escalate, not just for their safety but for the safety of all in the store,” Starbucks said. This man should have gotten a raise. Instead, he was fired ( X).
