Dear John

As you will by now be aware the Government has announced we have moved to COVID-19 alert level three and moving to level four within 48 hours, by 12.59 on Wednesday.

This is a challenging time for everyone and my thoughts are with you as we manage our way through the Prime Minister's latest announcement.

We must keep safe, physically and mentally if we are to get through this.

I am working closely with my team in the electorate offices to plan for continuity for the foreseeable future including getting a list together of community and government organisations that can help to share in tomorrow's update.

More support for businesses has also been announced <[link removed]>.

It's uncertain times and if you need accurate information or to talk to someone, there are websites available to visit for information and helplines to call or text.

The Ministry of Health's Healthline <[link removed]> provides health advice for the general public on COVID-19 like symptoms and how the virus spreads.  You can call them free on 0800 358 5453.  Keep an eye on the website as it's frequently updated.

Useful helplines include:

- 1737 – Free call or text 1737 any time for support from a trained counsellor.
- Lifeline – 0800 543 354 or free text 4357 (HELP)
- Youthline – 0800 376 633 or free text 234
- Samaritans – 0800 726 666

We've been receiving several questions about what qualifies as essential services and who are essential workers too.

The Government's Unite Against Covid-19 website <[link removed]>lists essential and non-essential services as updated a short while ago.

If you still have queries after reading the official websites, please email or phone the electorate offices <[link removed]> and we will do our best to assist.

Look after yourself, your family and your neighbours.  If you are available to assist others, please keep an eye out on Neighbourly for who to connect with and to lend a hand.

Stay safe, stay healthy and I will be back in touch tomorrow with a further update.
