͏Folks,
Our partners in Alabama and their allies in Louisiana are quite literally laying the foundation for one of our democracy’s biggest battles.
It all started with a simple demand for accountability. Republican lawmakers were cracking and packing congressional districts to their liking, deliberately silencing Black voters in the process.
Our partners called out these injustices and took the powerful agents of voter suppression and racial gerrymandering all the way to the Supreme Court — and won.
Now, Democrats have multiple opportunity districts to flip and take back control of the House, Black voters have more fair representation, and our democracy lives to fight another day.
That's just one of many stories that stem from local organizing happening in our target states. I hope by reading this today, you understand why investing in activists working throughout the Deep South, Appalachia, and the Plains is so important.
If you’re all in, can you pitch in today to help us meet our first monthly goal of the year so that we can continue expanding and sustaining our local investments? [[link removed]]
