Folks,
I know we're all looking for ways to help come together and pull through this crisis, so I wanted to reach out and give you an important action you can take today.
Right now, Congress is working on a coronavirus response package that will help us confront this pandemic head-on and make sure American families get the assistance they need during the outbreak.
But the bill that Mitch McConnell put forward gives corporations a blank check. He is trying to put corporate bailouts ahead of families.
We need to do better than that.
No bill should pass without conditions to ensure that the help corporations get goes to their workers, not their CEOs. No blank checks. If companies are taking money from taxpayers, they should be making commitments about keeping workers on payroll.
No bill should pass without immediate, generous relief for workers who are losing jobs and hours, small businesses losing revenue, and communities facing emergency needs.
Additionally, we should forgive a minimum of $10,000/person of federal student loans, as proposed by Senator Warren and colleagues. Young people and other student debt holders bore the brunt of the last crisis. It shouldn't happen again.
We should also increase monthly Social Security checks by $200/month, as proposed by Senator Wyden and colleagues. Seniors and people with disabilities are uniquely at risk right now.
In this moment of crisis, we should be sending federal resources to those who need it most. It's not just good economics -- it's the right thing to do. We have to get this right.
Will you take a few minutes to call your senators right now and ask them to make sure the Senate votes on a bill that includes these provisions?

Call your Senator!
Call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard:
(202) 224-3121
A switchboard operator will connect you with your Senator's office. You can also leave a message if it's outside working hours!
These are challenging times and there is so much that remains uncertain about our immediate future, so we need our leaders more than ever to step up and ensure that Americans will get the assistance they need to make it through.
That's why I'm asking you to join me in calling on the Senate to work swiftly to pass a bill that gives individuals and families the peace of mind they need right now.
The most important thing we have is each other, so thank you for taking the time to read this and take action today. I know we will meet this challenge together.
Keep the faith,
Joe Biden----
