There's no other way for me to say this, John. The way extremist politicians have treated veterans is B.S. and a total betrayal.

As a former U.S. Navy officer, I know what it's like to dedicate my life to this country. Like millions of other veterans, I raised my right hand to serve in uniform and protect the United States above all else.

On the campaign trail, I talk to veterans and military families here in Western PA about their experiences in and out of uniform. Too often, I hear about the uncertainty that they feel seeing extremist politicians play politics with their hard-earned benefits.

During my first year in Congress, House Republicans proposed massive cuts to the VA and veteran services. They claim to be on the side of veterans while being willing to slash the very services and funding we rely on.
