Dear John,

Thank you to those who joined us last week for our first Local Peace Economy online gathering! Please join us for CODEPINK’s next Local Peace Economy meeting on Wednesday, January 31st at 5:00 PT/8:00 ET <[link removed]>.

During this call, we’ll be sharing more about the pivots to peace in The Local Peace Economy Workbook. You can find more information about the pivots on page 28 <[link removed]>.

If you joined us for our last call, we’re looking forward to hearing about how you’ve been working with the pivots over the last two weeks!

If you weren't able to be with us during our first meeting, we missed you, and we hope to see you this time! You can learn more about why cultivating local peace economies is the path to peace here <[link removed]>. You can also watch the recording <[link removed]> of our introduction to the Local Peace Economy Workbook during our last meeting.

A digital version of The Local Peace Economy Workbook is available to download for free <[link removed]>, or you can purchase a physical copy <[link removed]>.

Remember, this is a process. Right now, we are rooting - rooting into ourselves, our values, our desires for the world we want to live in. The pivots help us root into ways of being that create conditions conducive for life. From this place, we can grow the world we want to live in. This is the path to sustainable change.

One of the pivots to peace is moving from solving problems to managing complexities. Check out this story <[link removed]> on the Local Peace Economy wiki <[link removed]> to read more about what this looks like for Paicines Ranch <[link removed]> and the No Regrets Initiative <[link removed]> as they work together to grow a healthy ecosystem in Paicines, CA.

“We’ve been fixated on this kind of one-dimensional way of knowing something is true, which is data, and yet, historically, we had wisdom that comes from places other than data, or even our brains."

—Esther Park, No Regrets Initiative <[link removed]>

Please email Emily at [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> with any questions. We look forward to being with you on Wednesday, January 31st!

Onward to peace with love,

Jodie and Emily
